One of the most powerful types of demons in the Abyss. Even Demon Lords fear the rise to power of an intelligent balor.
Huge red demons of incredible build and strength. Balors are mighty winged creatures standing up to twenty feet tall, they adorn themselves with the skulls of rival demons and mortal kings. A balor is never seen without its whip of solid flame and a blade made of forged lightning.
Balors can be found in the Abyss, on any layer, in the service of Demon Lords as high ranking servitors or as minor princelings, ruling over small baronies of abyssal territory.
Common Culture or Natural TraitsEdit
Balors are considered by some to be proto-demon lords and as such balors refuse to be on the losing side of anything. They align themselves with powerful Demon Lords, earning and sharing great power withen the Abyss. Some balors accquire territory of their own but lack the ability to shape a layer to their will and become its lord, these balors share territory with other balors ruling as minor princes, but never for long.
Weaker creatures fear the legendary cruelty and the formidable power of a balor, many balors control vast armies of demons who are loyal purely do to their fear of being torn asunder.
Balor's are commonly found in pairs, but such alliences do not last for long do to their natural sense of superiority. They refuse to work with the rare entity that is more powerful than it is, outside of their lord.
History and OriginsEdit
It is unknown where Balors came from or how they became amongst the most powerful entities in the Abyss.
